JTR Motorsports Engineering enjoyed one of its strongest Porsche Carrera Cup North America weekends of the 2026 season at Road America, collecting four podium finishes across the Pro and Masters classes during a unique three-race event. In addition to the traditional doubleheader weekend, competitors also contested a third race that served as the makeup event for a postponed race earlier this season in Miami, giving teams three opportunities to score valuable championship points.

JTR Motorsports Engineering fielded its familiar two-car lineup with driver and team owner Jared Thomas competing in the Pro class and Rob Walker representing the team in the Masters category. The weekend got off to an impressive start in race one as both drivers stood on the podium. Thomas delivered a strong drive to finish third in the highly competitive Pro class, while Walker matched the performance with a third-place finish in the Masters division.

Race two continued the team’s consistent weekend. Thomas battled inside the lead group to finish fourth in Pro, while Walker improved one position from the opening race to claim second in the Masters class, earning his best finish of the weekend.

The action concluded with the postponed Miami makeup race, giving teams a third opportunity to race around the iconic 4.048-mile Road America circuit. As the skies opened and rain soaked the track, Thomas once again showcased the speed of the JTR Motorsports Engineering Porsche, racing to another third-place finish in the Pro class to secure his second podium of the weekend. Walker did not participate in the additional race as he was not originally entered in the Miami race weekend.

Four podium finishes across the weekend highlighted the continued progress of the team as it builds momentum during the second half of the Carrera Cup season.

β€œThis was definitely one of our best weekends of the year,” explained Dave Thomas. β€œTo come away with multiple podiums for the team and see Rob on the podium twice as well is something we’re really proud of. Everyone at JTR Motorsports Engineering has been putting in a tremendous amount of work, and it’s great to see that effort paying off. Of course, we’re always chasing more, but this weekend showed the pace we know we’re capable of. We’ll take the momentum and get right back to work for next weekend.”

JTR Motorsports Engineering won’t have far to travel before returning to competition, as the team will remain at Road America for the next round of Porsche Sprint Challenge North America next weekend.
